August 2010 at Signal Mountain, with 100mm Macro lens on the 400D. 1/500th at f/4 and ISO 400. 30" print.
It may look slightly off balance to the right at smaller sizes, but at print scale, it's as good as it would get. Any additional margin to the right would up-end the whole thing.
Have pretty much lost my photo mojo in the last couple of years, but did one fruitful shoot last summer while visiting an old friend, and went browsing through the results on New Year's Eve for inspiration. It was mostly finished around then, but then needed to fester for a while.

Thanks for Sarah for all her help as a useful and inspiring assistant, and to Will for an objective eye after my first draft.
